Pheasants are plentiful in the prairies surrounding the Lodge. Season for male pheasants begins in mid-autumn and ends in early winter. See the official North Dakota Game and Fish web site below for regulations, season, and bag limit information.

Sharp-Tailed Grouse Hunting in North Dakota

Sharp-Tailed Grouse, as well as Hungarian Partridge range throughout the western North Dakota region. Both species prefer open areas, farmland and brush. The season generally runs from early fall to early winter.

Wild Turkey hunting is available to North Dakota residents who acquire a license through the state license lottery. The fall season is open for both tom and hen turkeys. The spring season is only open to bearded (tom) turkeys.

White-tailed deer hunting is available to residents and nonresidents. In the North Dakota Badlands, white-tailed deer tend to be found at the lower elevations.

Camel's Hump is located in unit 4B for deer hunting.
